Maltodextrins are extremely good bulking agents,
often used in instant beverages, sports drinks, dairy products
and a host of other applications.
Maltodextrins are bland, nutritive saccharide
polymers consisting of glucose units. Maltodextrins can be
used to increase soluble solids, inhibit sugar crystallisation,
and control freezing point. They have also been used as fat
mimics in frozen desserts.
